On Golden Pond

by david Email

One of the intriguing things about garden pond waterscapes is the mercurial look of water. While in most backyard ponds, the color of the water’s surface is not as affected as those with depths found in lakes; the sky does change the mood of your pond. Water is naturally an extremely pale blue color. When viewed from directly above the surface, a garden pond that contains clean water will always look clear. On a beautiful clear, sunny day, the same pond will look like the sky from an angle as looks grey when cloud cover or stormy skies prevail.

Living beside a golden pond could be perceived as far more than water color.

Who needs a house on the bay when your garden pond is off the edge of the deck?

Building nice sized garden ponds right next to the house, deck of paving stones patio will give you the feeling that you now reside in lakefront property. Of course the body of water will lack the waves found in a bigger basin, but adding moving water from waterfalls is better than waves all together. There are wave machines on the market, but for many backyard ponds they are way too large or cost prohibitive. You can turn that deck into a waterside dock simply by putting in a simple pond that can ripple in a lively fashion with the addition of fish to the water.

The mood of the water surface in backyard ponds will also change according to the plants that reside on the surface. Lotus leaves will be sometimes infused with red and in other seasons golden yellow, providing that ‘On Golden Pond’ ambiance for a few weeks. Sunset skies mirrored in the ponds water will also bring some exciting colors to the water of your garden pond. When placed in close proximity to windows in the family living areas of your home, again the feeling of waterfront living can become present when you have room for a good sized pond.

Waterfront living is possible anywhere with a contractor this skilled at ponds and their construction.

It would be either extremely expensive or foolhardy for anyone living next to the ocean, on a lake or riverfront to build their house right into the water. With cleverly designed biosystem ponds you can have your home surrounded by sparkling water and no threat of flooding or leak issues. Not many homes in downtown Riverside have a reason for a dock, so imagine how unique your yard will be with a dock and fresh water lapping against the side of your house.

Garden pond design is only as limited as your imagination.
Life on Golden Pond can be created without relocating. Reflections of sky and wonderful home living enhancements offer far more than homeowners who have no ponds in their backyard yet can imagine. Feeding the fish out the window, sitting on the dock in the cool of the evening are just some of the new ways you find yourself enjoying for passing time at home. It is suggested that building a pond that comes right up to the foundation of your house not be tried without a great deal of experience. For a job like this you want a contractor with a long standing reputation and a few hundred ponds and waterfalls under their belt.
